An astronaut has to be sent back to Earth after a strange incident rendered her of little use on the re-building of the Phoenix.With everything that has happened, the Chinese decide to withdraw from the program. This causes panic within NASA because without the Chinese, there was a very good chance of other contributory nations withdrawing, making the project impossible.Eventually the hastily gathered crew begin their journey to Mars. But some people have a different idea. Hijacking in space is not a nice thing - and it does not have a nice end.They are advised to return to Earth, but decide not to, much to the relief of people on Earth, who know this is their only chance to go to the red planet.
