I am semi-retired now, but during my working life I worked on military aircraft. During my life I have been a light aircraft pilot, an artist, a courier, carer and many other things. I began my first novel when my wife fell ill, and I needed to find something to do close to her whilst I nursed her. That book eventually emerged as 'THE TSR 2 CONSPIRACY' It took about three years to write this conspiracy novel, then another two to re-write and edit it! The second one was a lot quicker. This was a 'James Bond' type book, 'SHORTFALL TO EQUILIBRIUM'. "When the elements are not conducive, the shortfall to equilibrium is made up with skill, confidence and experience." British agent and his associate, Lieutenant Lennox Bird travel to Malmo, where she is promptly captured, and flown to Riga. There follows a sea battle during which the Russians use an ex-Kreigmarine schnell-boat and crew. Then they reveal their secret weapon - the Ekronoplane. This is a cross between an airliner and a naval destroyer that can 'fly' at 300 mph. But I still couldn’t get over my fascination with military aircraft. Then a second book in what became a 3 - book series, 'SHOOTING THE DEAD.' The title came from a battle in the book, where the good guys are pinned down in a gun-fight in a Portuguese cemetery. The third book in the trilogy is 'NOTHING HAPPENS. QED.' How would you cope if there were suddenly no electricity? WHEN EXOTIC SUB-ATOMIC PARTICLES OF MATTER AND ANTI-MATTER COLLIDE THEY ANNIHILATE EACH OTHER. There is no sound. to the observer nothing happens. The resulting massive release of electrical energy kills all electrical equipment - Nothing Happens. Then came the big series - 'THRONES OF MARS.' Based on today's technology, this is the story of how mankind ventured to the red planet, and some of the hazards they faced. "The mission really is establishing permanence on another planet in the Solar system." Dr E. E. (Buzz) Aldrin, Apollo 11 Astronaut. This story is based on what we have now, or what will be developed. There are no 'Death rays', Super Heroes, or gravity-defying stunts. THE LAWS OF PHYSICS ARE SACROSANCT. Book One 'THE FRIENDLY ROBOT CONSPIRACY.' Why have we always been fascinated by the red planet? The astronauts thought they were alone in building a spaceship - they soon found that minds far more powerful than theirs were running the project. "... the appearance of a man working outside the spaceship without a spacesuit can be alarming- so he tends to stay inside." Book Two. 'LIFE ON MARS.' An astronaut is cast adrift in space. Then a man appears in tee-shirt and jeans, wearing trainers on a scaffold with a rocket engine attached. Book Three. THE MARTIAN INFUSION. What would you expect from the surface of Mars? The intrepid explorers find the secret of why we have always been interested in Mars - but once they find out, they cannot be allowed to return to Earth. Part Four. 'THE WAY HOME.' They must get off the planet. But the robots have full and complete control over anything electrical, and they have been given the authority to stop the remaining humans from ever leaving, to prevent the secret getting back to humanity. Book Five. 'DANGEROUS KNOWLEDGE.' The Mars astronauts thought they had had it rough. A Tsunami had wiped outvast areas of the US Eastern Seaboard, including most of NASA. Book Six. 'QUANTUM ILLUMINATI.' The old paradox of time travel, known as the 'Grandfather Paradox' has been solved by nature itself. But Marq has found a way around this - however when he uses his machine to change events, he finds that repercussions are not what he expected. less
